Inspired by nature and committed to more sustainable viticulture, Lanson is one of the few major Champagne Houses operating today to include an organic Champagne in its permanent range. Regional Information
A unique combination of soil and climate characterizes the Champagne region. The vineyards are subject to a dual climate with both continental and oceanic influences. The climate is just right for making sparkling wine, producing grapes with the right balance of acidity and sugar levels. The soil is composed of chalk, marl and limestone. This type of subsoil ensures roots stay dry. The soil also acts as a reservoir, allowing the vines to have a steady supply of water even in the driest summers.
